Expanding a Patent Application

A mechanical invention may appear simple, but there are other aspects to consider. One is whether the simple mechanical embodiment adequately describes the scope of the invention. Does the invention actually encompass a system or a process or method? Is there a software interface or computational model that is really part of the innovation as a whole?

An analysis of the scope of the innovation may reveal an opportunity to expand the disclosure of the invention.
